Biosketch

Stacy Tessler Lindau, MD, MAPP is PI and Director of the Chicago Core on Biomarkers in Population-Based Aging and Health Research.  She is also Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Medicine (Geriatrics). Dr. Lindau is an integrated health researcher, combining biomedical and social scientific techniques to study health and health behavior in the population setting.  Her primary interest is in deciphering the biological pathways linking women's sexual relationships to health and health outcomes, particularly in the context of aging and life-threatening illness (e.g. cancer and HIV).  She is Co-PI with Linda Waite of the NIH-funded National Social Life, Health and Aging Project (NSHAP).

Curriculum Vitae

Natalia's background is in computer science, anthropology and biodemography.  Her current research interests involve biodemography of aging and longevity, centenarian studies and application of new web-based computer technologies to biomarker studies. Natalia currently is working on CCBAR website content and dynamic functionality as well as assists in the Chicago biomarker workshop organization.

Jessica joined the Biomarker Core in August, 2007 to organize the annual conference, facilitate the publication of conference proceedings, and assist in the development of the Biomarker website.  She recently graduated from the University of Michigan with a double-degree in Communication Studies and History of Art.  Her interests deal with how sexuality and women's health is portrayed in the media and how the media is used as an education tool for learning about different sexual matters and disease prevention.




Dima Qato, PharmD, MPH

Research Associate

Dima received her PharmD from the University of Illinois at Chicago and my MPH from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Her research interests include the consequences of the misdistribution/allocation of health care resources, particularly medications, in vulnerable populations, including the elderly, on health; health and human rights; and international health.

Saad is a third year undergraduate student at the University of Chicago who is planning to major in Biology.  His research interests lie in the area of  Economics, Public Policy and Sociology.  He currently is assisting in developing the CCBAR website and organizing workshop meetings.
